A WHITELEY-based telecommunications company has taken over an IT company in a bid to extend its range of services.
Peach Telecom announced the acquisition of IT support company Nexus Business Group Ltd on Thursday (July 3) and said the move will result in more IT services, including backup and recovery technical assistance, antivirus and security and hardware support, for its 3,000 customers.
The move also sees Nexus managing director, Gareth McQuaid, join the existing board members extending his role to IT director at Peach.
He said: “Our customers are pleased with the move as they will be able to take advantage of Peach’s end-to-end portfolio.”
Peach hopes the deal with Nexus will make them one of the top technology providers to UK businesses.
Previously based in Southampton, Nexus provided IT support to small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
Peach CEO Darren Scott-Healey added: “With the convergence of telecommunications and IT, the acquisition has come at a perfect time. We are thrilled to welcome Nexus customers to the Peach family and to be able to offer a more comprehensive range of solutions to current and potential customers.
“We look forward to being their Managed Service Provider.”
