A HAMPSHIRE builders merchant has boosted its team in a bid to boost business by millions and ensure its customers have access to the very best products.

Elliotts, one of the oldest family businesses in Southampton, has made a new appointment as part of the firm’s plans to grow its joinery turnover by £4m.

Reseach role The company has hired Sally Fisher as joinery product manager, who will be responsible for joinery sales for the entire Elliotts group, which has nine builders’ merchant branches across the county.

Her day-to-day role will see her research and advise on the latest products available on the market to ensure customers have access to quality equipment.

Tom Elliott, managing director, said: “Our reputation, stability and wide range of products has helped us develop a thriving joinery division over the last 172 years.

“However, there is so much more potential and we know that by adding Sally’s expertise we will be able to provide even more added value to our customers, along with the very best range of cutting-edge products that are constantly being developed.”

Elliotts, which was founded in 1842, has builders’ merchant branches in Bishop’s Waltham, Chandler’s Ford, Fareham, Fordingbridge, Ringwood, Romsey, Southampton, Tadley and Totton, meaning an Elliotts branch is never more than 20 minutes away from any building site in Hampshire.

Sally, who has significant experience working in joinery within builders merchants, added: “I’m very much looking forward to being a part of Elliotts, which has such a strong heritage and reputation in Hampshire.

“Thanks to developments in manufacturing and technology, joinery products are constantly evolving and I plan to make sure Elliotts’ customers are right at the forefront of those changes.”
