TRAINEE beauticians will get a head start in their careers as a new beauty school opens its doors to students.

Naomi O’Hara Training Academy in Newton Lane, Romsey, was launched by Naomi after 20 years working in the industry.

“I just felt that there was a massive gap in the market. If you wanted to learn something you had to go into huge classes and it could take a year or two to get started,” said Naomi, who lives in Romsey.

The academy will provide fast-track training in a working clinic for both new therapists and qualified beauticians wishing to broaden their skills.

The small classes and one-to-one tuition provided will mean some students could qualify in as little as six days.

Naomi, who has taught beauty qualifications for two years, added: “You get a lot more hands-on work. You do a lot of the reading and assessments at home. It’s in a working clinic so it makes you a bit more industry ready.”

She claims her school is the only one in the south to offer the whole spectrum of fast-track beauty therapy qualifications.

Students will get a choice of a range of qualifications including VTCT beauty therapy and NVQ levels two, three and four.

Skill taught include micro pigmentation, medical tattooing, breast reconstruction and laser hair removal.

The academy, which has also opened a clinic in Portsmouth, is keen to hear from people willing to be models and receive treatment at reduced rates.
