A GROWING and respected firm of architects celebrated its rebrand and 10th anniversary last week with a party.
Ayre Chamberlain Gaunt, based in Basingstoke’s Top of The Town, was formerly known as ACB Design.
Directors David Ayre, Matthew Chamber-lain and Dominic Gaunt mingled with a mixture of clients, consultants and people that work with the firm that employs 22 people at its London Street offices.
Dominic said: “It feels like we’ve reached a milestone.
“We were established in 2005, although we didn’t really get going until 2008.” Dominic explained that initially the directors worked for other practises.
“We thought this would be a good opportunity to reflect back on what we’ve achieved and where we are now,” said Dominic.
He said the new name makes the firm more personal: “That’s the idea, as David, Matthew and I are so involved in all the projects.
“We’re very hands-on and we felt it was sensible to have our names at the forefront.
“We’ve had rapid growth since 2008, but it’s more than just numbers, I think it’s the size of projects we’re involved with.
“We started off doing small scale domestic work and now we’re just finishing off a £25million mixed use development called Alpine Place, in Brent, north west London.”
Dominic said the award-winning firm is involved in lots of large scale mixed housing schemes.
More locally it is involved in work at BCoT and building a new youth centre in Newchurch Road, in Tadley, which Dominic describes as a “very exciting project”.
Dominic added: “We are really lucky to have some great clients and worked with people like Anthony Bravo and David Moir at BCoT – the college has been fantastic.
“They commissioned us right at the outset before we had any sort of track record or portfolio – so we’re really grateful to people like them.”
