A HAMPSHIRE business is hoping to increase its manufacturing strategy thanks to the help and advice of a government-backed scheme.

Eastleigh manufacturer GW Martin expects 10 per cent growth each year thanks to the Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS).

The firm which employs 46 staff at its base in Bishopstoke Road is a sub-contractor in the engineering industry and supplies precision machined components and assemblies.

GW Martin Managing Director Stuart Yalden, said: “We met with MAS, part of the Business Growth Service, in 2012 and last year implemented a new business growth strategy.

"We were able to access additional match-funding and support for consultancy on an action plan, a new ERP system, leadership training and a vital 20% contribution our new plant and machinery.

“Our capacity is set to rise from £4 million to £5.5 million over the next three years with 16 further jobs.”
