A WELL-KNOWN Winchester group of artists has a vacancy for two new members.

The Colour Factory is looking for people to join the collective who are based near the River Park Leisure Centre.

The long-established group includes artists Jenny Muncaster and Rachael Alexander whose work can be seen in Hotel du Vins across the country and in a city council commissioned mural in the alleyway next to Tom’s Deli on St George’s Street.

It says it is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside experienced artists in a friendly and supportive environment.

Established 21 years, The Colour Factory has major contacts in business and the arts including teaching, workshops, public art commissions, video and TV.

Jenny said: “This is a great opportunity for you to make a business through your creativity in an inspiring setting with support from fellow artists.”

She says it would suit an artist, craftsperson, designer, illustrator, journalist or people working in IT, video/film, media, web design.

There are two studio spaces available with a rent of £255 per calendar month, that includes business rates.

The Colour Factory in a former groundsman’s bungalow on Gordon Road has a gallery/shop where artists display and sell their work.

There is also use of a large outdoor workshop/classroom for meetings, teaching and events in the back garden.Other benefits include a business postal address, networking opportunities, inclusion on the Colour Factory website.
