A RETIRED Hampshire policeman has announced he will stand as an MP for Winchester at the next General Election.
Mark Lancaster, who retired from the force after 30 years’ service in January 2008, is the prospective parliamentary candidate for the English Democrats Party.
He lives in Chandler’s Ford which is part of the new constituency. His wife Julie was also a police officer for 30 years before retiring in September 2008.
Since retiring Mr Lancaster has been delivering prescriptions for a chemist in Chandler’s Ford.
He said he became involved in the party after feeling disgusted by the MPs’ expenses scandal.
