A WEEKEND of events is taking place in Winchester to raise awareness about the health of mothers and babies in the developing world.
Entitled Dying for Life, they are being organised by the University of Winchester and St Swithun’s School in Alresford Road.
The events are taking place in association with the Global Student Forum for the White Ribbon Alliance for Safe Motherhood.
Starting on Saturday, March 17, the first event will take place from 10am to 1pm at the University of Winchester.
It will be a forum on maternal health issues and will be chaired by Bramdean-based newsreader, Alastair Stewart.
During the afternoon, organisers will hold a series of fundraising activities in and around Winchester. They will be collecting money for the Christian Aid Sierra Leone Project.
The final event will be at 6.30pm on Sunday, March 18 with an Evensong at Winchester Cathedral to celebrate mothers across the world.
