A SMALL plot of land in central Romsey has sold at auction for £15,000.

The land at the rear of 72-74 The Hundred attracted fierce bidding. Land and property auctioneers, Clive Emson, sold the land off at an auction held at Hampshire County Cricket Club’s home, the Ageas Bowl, at West End.

Auctioneer, Rob Marchant said: “There was keen interest in this small packet of land, which did not have a reserve price.

“A fierce bidding war ensued between two people in the room for this site, with the tennis equivalent of a long rally and the bid went to the maiden bidder, whose first offer was £400.
