Motorcycle pair and van spotted near crime scene
10:23am Friday 23rd November 2012 in News
THIEVES have taken numerous electrical items from a North Baddesley home.
Burglars smashed their way through a rear patio door of the house in Nutburn Road, breaking the glass with a heavy pot plant.
They searched every room and removed many electrical items, cash and jewellery.
Stolen items included a silver Apple iPad and cable in a grey case, a dark blue Acer laptop and cable, a white Apple MacBook and cable, three digital cameras, £50 in cash, an empty one foot square grey metal safe, two Apple iPods, one with a cracked screen, a quantity of jewellery and a black rucksack.
Police are appealing for information on the incident, which happened between 2.20pm and 6.15pm last Saturday (November 17).
A witness reported seeing a black motorcycle leaving the scene and heading towards Rownhams Road.
The male rider was around 6ft tall and wore a navy jacket, trousers and white trainers. The pillion passenger appeared to be a thin woman, about 5ft tall, wearing coloured leggings, who had a backpack with reflective strips. Another witness reported seeing a white Transit-type van in the drive of the house at about 3.30am on Saturday.
The van had a lower rear panel with silver and green diagonal stripes and the driver left at speed when he realised the van was being watched.
Police are warning North Baddesley residents to be extra vigilant.
PC Toru Tsuzaki said: “When properties are empty, all doors and windows should be locked and the keys removed, and particular car should be taken to avoid leaving anything outside which could be used to force entry to the house.”
Anyone who saw the motorcycle or the van is asked to contact PC Tsuzaki, at Eastleigh, on 101.
