HAMPSHIRE highways closed several fords in the Romsey area yesterday (Thursday) because of rising water levels.
Officials closed roads with fords over the River Blackwater at West Wellow and Plaitford. There were no reports of any motorists being stranded in deep water on flooded roads in the Romsey area. Roads affected by flooding included the Mottisfont to Lockerley Road in several places including Canefield Corner, School Farm and Dunbridge. Flooding was also reported on the B3084 near Lime Kiln Meadow Farm at Mottisfont.
