A WELLOW artist has donated three paintings to the Royal British Legion to raise cash for the charity’s Poppy Appeal.
Michael Swanton’s artwork includes a a Second World World scene depicting a Spitfire intercepting a German Messerschmitt fighter, Bosham Quay in West Sussex and a country cottage scene.
All three paintings will be put into a Silent Auction being run by the Romsey branch of the RBL and they will be on display at the clubhouse up to and including Sunday November 10.
Romsey branch secretary Craig Philips said: “Anyone may bid for the paintings and all proceeds are to go towards the Poppy Appeal for the coming year.”
Honorary president of the Romsey RBL branch is due to attend the organisation’s annual general meeting on October 14. The meeting starts at 8pm.
