Age Concern Hampshire’s Romsey Food & Friendship service has now been extended to offer company from volunteers at tea-time.
The Food & Friendship scheme is available free of charge to Romsey Meals on Wheels customers who would like a regular visit from a friendly volunteer for at least half an hour, between 11.30am and 4pm. The service is run by Age Concern Hampshire in partnership with Hampshire County Council and tTest Valley Borough Council.
With afternoon tea now provided as an extra meal from Meals on Wheels, Age Concern Hampshire volunteers have extended their hours to offer their services at tea-time too.
Food & Friendship Co-ordinator Paul Simmonds says: “Good food and good company is something that we all enjoy. It is testament to the dedication of our volunteers that we are now able to extend our services in Romsey to include home visits over afternoon tea.”
