She's the woman who's sold a million pop-up books now she's turning her home into a pop-up shop to help a cancer charity.

Illustrator Jennie Maizels is running a two-day sale of her work at her home in Braishfield next week (November 27-28) in aid of Macmillan Cancer.

“Macmillan is my favourite charity. I always try to help them when I can,” said Jennie. “They do an incredible job.”

Over the last 20 years illustrator Jennie has produced 16 books, all but three in the pop-up format, the best selling of which, Pop-up London, has sold more than 100,000 copies and is available in galleries and museums all over the capital.

Copies of her latest publication Pop-Up New York, complete with a towering Empire State building, will be available during her two-day charity sale.

More recently the 44-year-old mum-of-two has launched another successful venture Jennie iron-on patches featuring embroidered versions of her illustrations.

The patches, which are made in the Far East, sell across the world and Jennie has recently relocated the growing business from her home office to a unit at nearby Slackstead Farm. The patch business now employs a sales manager, an office as well as her husband Marcus, as its IT expert.

Alongside the patches and books the charity sale will feature Jennie Maizels mugs and stationery plus miniatures and home-made Christmas decorations created by her mother, Maggie Maizels, who is an established artist in her own right.

Jennie's home, Amberley in Braishfield Road (postcode S051 0PR) will be open from 10am to 9.30pm on November 27 and from 10am to 6pm the following day.
