Romsey has a new record shop – its first for many years - and the store will be stocking live acts as well as vinyl and CDs.
Mark Wills, proprietor of Hundred Records, in the former premises of Made Marion hair salon, plans to bring bands to the shop and he starts tomorrow (Thursday) when baroque folk outfit the Moulettes turn up to play at lunchtime ahead of their evening gig at The Railway in Winchester.
Made redundant from his job at Lloyds Bank earlier this year, Mark decided that at 50 he’d had his fill of finance and it was time to pursue his first love, music.
Hundred Records will stock range of rock, jazz, country, Americana, folk, soul and classical music.
The shop is open 9am to 5pm Monday to Saturday and, from this week, will be open on Sundays from 11am to 2pm in the run-up to Christmas.
