Bells will ring out as The White Horse Hotel and Brasserie and Romsey Abbey stage their second annual wedding fair on Sunday. A host of companies, including dress suppliers, hairdressers, chauffeurs, stationers and cake makers will be taking part.

The Abbey will be staging a display of wedding dresses and mother-of-the-bride outfits and photos of previous weddings held at the ancient Norman church.

Visitors to the Abbey will be serenaded by the Abbey choir, Romsey Choral Society and there and bell-ringing demonstrations.

Staff will be on hand to offer advice and to take bookings.

Rev Tim Sledge said: “Whilst many couples prefer not to get married in a church, there are many who do, and there are also many who don’t think they can, but can. Romsey Abbey offers a stunning venue for the wedding of many couples’ dreams or a smaller, more intimate service in one of its side chapels. We look forward to welcoming everyone on Sunday.”

A horse-drawn carriage will take visitors from the Abbey to The White Horse which will be showcasing its services.

Sarah Bingham, manager at The White Horse, said “We are delighted to partner with the Abbey for this event – a one-stop shop for all your wedding needs and dreams.”

Canapés and welcome drinks will be served at both venues during the event, which runs from 1pm to 4pm
