MUSIC, dancing and theatrical acts will spill into Hampshire this weekend.

One of the biggest events on Romsey’s calendar is back – bringing thousands of visitors into the town’s pubs, bars, churches and gardens.

And this year’s Beggars Fair will feature 19 new acts who will go head to head to win a place in next year’s event.

We've put together a gallery of pictures from previous Beggars Fairs, which you can scroll through above.

Visitors will have the chance to vote for their favourite new acts tomorrow – and the one with the most votes will be offered a guaranteed place next year.

The event aims to showcase some of the south’s most talented performers from a 25 mile radius of Romsey.

There will be a host of musical acts including Cinnamon Jazz, Latin dance orchestra Atlantico and covers bands including Black Sheep and Acoustic Affect.

Meanwhile up to 1,500 young drummers of Showcase Drumming Academy and hundreds of dancers – including seven Morris dance troupes will perform.

There will also be demonstrations, face painting, story telling, street theatre and Punch and Judy shows while a youth festival will be held at War Memorial Park, which will be transformed into an open air gallery from 10am-4pm as 20 artists display their work.

Organisers have also launched a special souvenir t-shirt for this year’s Beggars Fair designed by Romsey photographer Kate Jackson, featuring mascot Trevor the Trout and the names of the entertainers. Many revellers are expected to wear theirs on the day, while a limited number will be sold at the event for £15.

The Mayor of Romsey, John Parker, and the Mayor of Test Valley, Karen Hamilton will be opening the event at 11am.

The 24th annual Beggars Fair will run from 11am to 6pm but revellers are expected to continue the party until the last pubs close that evening.

Roads will be closed throughout the town centre from 7am to 6pm in order to allow the crowds to party to the music in The Hundred and Market Place where the main stages will be.

Alcohol will not be allowed on the streets, only in the pubs and bars littered around town.
