TWO teenagers were robbed at knifepoint when they were approached by two men on a Hampshire street in the early hours.

Officers from Hampshire police are looking for witnesses to help them with their investigation after a 16-year old boy and an 18-year old man were robbed of £100 in cash.

Moments before the robbery in North Baddesley, the two victims had been using the cash point outside the Co-op Supermarket on the junction of Botley Road.

They were walking on Rownhams Road towards Rownhams Lane when the two other men approached them at about 1.20am on Thursday July 28.

A spokesman from hamsphire police said there was a brief struggle before one of the men “produced a knife and threatened the 18-year-old victim”.

“The two men then ran off with the bag, which contained £100 cash,” they said.

Neither of the victims was injured.

Now officers from Hampshire police are appealing for witnesses to come forward to help them with their investigation.

PCSO Stuart McCloskey added: “I would like to reassure you that this is an isolated incident and that the investigation is on-going.”

A 22-year-old man from Southampton has already been arrested on suspicion of robbery.

He was released on police bail until September 21, pending further enquiries.

Police are asking for anyone with any information about the robbery or who thinks they may have seen something to contact them on 101 quoting incident 44160281175.
