IT WAS a battle of two of Hampshire’s biggest sporting teams.
Southampton FC and Hampshire CCC went head to head at Mountbatten School, Romsey, last night for a Question of Sport-style quiz.
Scores of Romsey and North Baddesley locals crammed into the hall to watch players including Charlie Austin, Matt Targett, Chris Wood, Sean Ervine, Reece Topley and Ryan Stevenson battle it out for the crown.
Special guests and former Southampton players Matt Le Tissier and Francis Benali were also on hand to make up the rest of team Saints.
With any array of questions on a number of topics, the team were neck and neck for much of the contest, but in the end it was team Saints that took the victory 47-45.
