Braishfield Music and Drama Society is presenting the classic Russian comedy, The Government Inspector, by Nikolai Gogol, at the village hall on Friday and Saturday at 7.30pm.

The play is a satire on human vanity and centres on the corrupt officials of a small town in Tsarist Russia who mistake a penniless clerk for the feared government inspector.

For tickets, priced £6 adults and £3 for under-16s, call 368535 or buy them on the door.

* Pictured in a scene from the Play are James Hillier as the phoney inspector, Peter Quarendon as the education director, and Iain Colman as the mayor.
