A CLAY pigeon shoot in memory of a Hampshire countryside guardian raised nearly £2,000 for a cancer charity.
The shoot on the Compton Manor Estate at King’s Somborne netted £1,880 for the Countess Mountbatten Hospice at West End near Southampton. Phil Fielder who lives at Timsbury started the annual event nine years ago following the death of his mate David Glasspool from cancer. Dave used to help Phil out on his pheasant-rearing unit at Timsbury. Phil’s wife Juliet, said that since setting up the memorial shoot, almost £9,500 has been raised for the hospice.
