Tesco’s controversial plans for a 35,000 sqft store on Broadlands Estate land on the edge of Romsey can now be viewed on line at Test Valley Borough Council’s website.
The application to build the supermarket with a 400-space car park on a six-acre site known as the Fairground Field, south of the bypass, can be viewed by the following link at www.testvalley.gov.uk/tesco The plan also includes the demolition of six properties owned by Broadlands at the corner of the site in Burma Road and a roundabout off the bypass.
The planning application website has a comments tab to enable people to have their say about the planning proposal.
“We would encourage all those who intend to comment to use this method, which cuts costly administration and ensures comments are lodged and taken into account quickly,” said a TVBC spokesman.
Alternatively the application can be viewed at the council offices in Duttons Road, Romsey. Comments can also be made by writing to the Planning and Building Service, Council Offices, Duttons Road, Romsey SO51 8XG Notifications are also being sent to residents directly affected by the application along with Romsey Extra Parish Council, Romsey Town Council and relevant technical experts. People have until October 12 to register their views. The application will go before a meeting of the Southern Area Planning Committee for consideration at a date to be determined.
