AS previously reported, Twyford residents have been concerned by a spate of door-to-door cold callers purporting to be selling as part of an ex-offenders programme. Following an alert on Wednesday from a resident regarding two cold-callers in Manor Road, police apprehended them and confirmed that they had been selling door-to-door illegally.
This type of selling requires a pedlar’s certificate, something that would be denied those with criminal convictions. Anyone claiming to be selling as part of an ex-offender programme is doing so illegally and police advise residents to call them on 101 if they are approached.
