The message that Croydon is a Champion place to live, work and play, was spread by a giant balloon race launched at Croydon Carnival on Saturday.
A float specially prepared by the Croydon Guardian joined the procession through the town centre to Lloyd Park where 4,000 balloons were released - each individually completed by a local school pupil stating why he or she believes Croydon is Champion.
