WINCHESTER City Council is hosting a ‘budget briefing breakfast’ for local businesses to give feedback to civic chiefs.

The council is hoping for businesses to offer opinions, point out problems and suggest solutions.

Doubling as a networking event for all sectors of the local economy, the morning features an insight into Council finances and key projects for the coming year and workshops.

Keith Wood, council leader, said: “The annual Budget Briefing Breakfast is always a highlight in Winchester’s calendar as it unites business owners and decision makers from across the district. It’s an excellent chance for city council officers and members to get to know the people who we aim to support and ensure that all of their voices are heard.”

Representatives from local branches of companies such as IBM, Waitrose and Sainsbury’s have been invited, as have local entrepreneurs from smaller Winchester district-based businesses.

Kate Cloud, head of economy and arts at the council said: “During these difficult financial times it is up to us as residents of Winchester to keep lines of communication as open as possible and this Breakfast Briefing is the ideal platform for this dialogue to continue.”

The Budget Briefing Breakfast will be held on Tuesday December 11 from 8am to 9.30am at the Guildhall. For more information please contact Alison Woods on 01962 848347 or at awoods@winchester.gov.uk
