A WINCHESTER woman is running a marathon-and-a-half for charity over the next month Natalie Robson, of May Tree Close, Badger Farm, is taking part in the Reading Half Marathon on March 17, followed by the London Marathon on April 21.

She is running for the British Heart Foundation, hoping to raise £2,000 to help battle heart and circulatory disease, which is the UK’s biggest killer.

Natalie, 26, a lecturer, said: “I decided to take part because the BHF has done a lot for my family and is a charity close to our hearts. This year I am running the Reading Half Marathon with my mum in honour of Ged Clark, my mum’s friend who died after collapsing at the finish line of last year’s Reading Half Marathon.

“I entered the London Marathon with my mum but unfortunately she didn’t receive a place so will be doing that one solo.”

Nancy Prior, head of events at the British Heart Foundation said: “Thanks to Natalie for joining the British Heart Foundation’s Heart Runners team. With support like this we really can beat heart disease together.”
