CHILDREN in Alresford got to solve a murder in a fun activity day.

The blood was spattered at the scene of the dastardly crime, there were murder weapons to analyse and fingerprints to take.

The 24 Year 6 children taking part in the Crime Scene Investigation morning were from five local primary schools: Sun Hill Junior, Cheriton, Preston Candover, Ropley and Four Marks.

The Mayor of Winchester Frank Pearson even dropped by to help out, along with Year 10 students from Perins School in Alresford.

The aim of the day was to get children to think about and be interested in science and technology.

Paul Waterworth, director of organiser MCS Projects and an Alresford resident, said: “It was brilliant. This was the first time we had done this with Year 6s and mixed schools. Everyone enjoyed it.”
