Winchester police arrest man for alleged cannabis offences
POLICE today arrested a Winchester man on a city estate for suspected drugs offences.
A team of ten officers executed a warrant at a house in Fromond Road, Weeke, at 7.35am.
A 50-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a Class B drug, cannabis, and suspicion of cultivation of cannabis.
After his arrest by the Winchester City Gate Safer Neighbourhoods he was being questioned by police.
A neighbour, who asked not to be named, said: “They were going to use the battering ram but it looks as if they just walked in. I think the door was open.”
