FIRE spinners and mince pies might seem an odd combination to some but for one Winchester hairdresser it’s the epitome of Christmas.

Annual Christmas party host, Guy Kremer, invited guests to his salon to celebrate the festivities on Parchment Street last week (December 6).

Clients, friends and staff were treated to mince pies, champagne and swinging fireballs as part of the entertainment package which Mr Kremer tried to keep fairly low-key this year.

“We had between 150 and 170 people but for us that is fairly small,” he said. “We had some entertainers who were playing with fire and that was really quite good and everyone was eating mince pies and drinking bubbly.

“This Christmas was a good party for our clients as we launched a new colouring room with a new foot spa.

“We have one every year but we decided to keep things quite simple as we have a big party coming up later in the year.

“On March 23 it will be 40 years since I’ve been cutting hair in England so we’ll be having a big party in May when the weather’s nicer with a big marquee.”
