THIEVES snatched dozens of mobile phones from a delivery van in Winchester in a haul valued at £20,000, police said this evening.

They are appealing for information following the theft at the junction of the High Street and Trafalgar Street at around 9am yesterday.

Around 40 phones along with accessories were stolen from a white van while the driver was commencing a delivery.

PC Lee Skinner from Winchester police station said: “A number of Apple iPhone 5C and 5S, Alcatel phones and Nokia phones were stolen from the van.

“A man was seen to approach the side of the van and open the side loading door. Did anyone witness this incident?”
