TOURISTS visiting Hampshire for Christmas have been left disappointed after a hotel has been left without power for nearly five days as a result of the bad weather.
Norton Park Hotel near Winchester contacted visitors yesterday (December 26) advising them that they were without power and were unable to put anyone up.
General manager, Tom Fromm, said: “We’ve had intermittent power since Monday afternoon and we decided to close the hotel yesterday advising our guests of the situation.
“We’re going to wait until the power is back on for at least 12 hours before we can let anyone stay. We could not deal with the uncertainty of it going on and off again.
“Most people are very understanding and we’ve never had a power cut that’s lasted more than two hours before.”
