AUDITIONS for the Chesil Theatre’s summer production of The Three Musketeers take place this coming weekend.

On March 16-17 at 7.45pm Chesil Theatre will open its doors to any actors wanting to take up one of the 28 acting parts including D’Artagnan, Cardinal Richelieu, the swashbuckling musketeers, courtesans, villagers and gaolers.

The director, Martin Humphrey, said: “This is our first open-air production in over 21 years. I have chosen to direct this play because it has a large cast, so we can involve lots of people.  It is a fun play and has, as you would expect, plenty of sword fighting, plotting and intrigue as well as blackmail and adventure. Before the start of each performance, audiences will be able to picnic in the beautiful surroundings of Wolvesey Palace, which is the perfect setting for this jolly romp.

“Our production of The Three Musketeers is going to have all the ingredients of a hearty, traditional family show.”

A reading will take place on Friday March 14 at 7.45pm. All newcomers are welcome.

Performances of The Three Musketeers will take place in the gardens of Wolvesey Palace by kind permission of the Bishop of Winchester, July 8–12. Tickets are available online at chesiltheatre.org.uk  or by calling 0333 666 3366.
