WINCHESTER School of Art will hold the first careers fair in its 150-year history on Thursday. (MAR13)

Re:work will see some 25+ organisations attending, many of them household names from the creative industries, from Rob Shaw, the founder of Jack Wills, to fashion houses Karen Millen and Mint Velvet, IBM and international WPP company Blue State Digital.

Several Winchester creative companies, such as Peagreen, C&Co, Park Corner Design and Nuko will also attend.

It will be an opportunity for the school’s 1,600 students to meet employers face to face and hear inspiring speakers, such as Hayley Quinn, the UK’s best-known dating consultant, who will talk to students about social skills and making a great first impression.

The Dean of the Faculty will open it at 11am and it will run through until 4pm, when exhibitors, alumni, staff and students will gather for a reception.

Fears that the fair might be cancelled or relocated because of flooding in Park Avenue have been allayed by the ebbing of the floods in the last two weeks.
