CHILDREN across the county enjoyed a day of fun and games this World Book Day.
But for one school, it wasn’t just the children that got stuck in and dressed up as their favourite character.
Staff at Hiltingbury Junior School, near Chandler’s Ford, went to work in full costume.
Characters from Harry Potter made an appearance, as did Mary Poppins.
The school spent the day celebrating reading by taking part in a giant book swap, drama workshops and competitions.
This year’s event was the 17th annual World Book Day, which encourages children to enjoy reading by giving them the opportunity to own a book of their own.
