NEW affordable homes in Winchester have now been handed over to Winchester City Council.

Three new three-bedroom houses, at Bourne Close in Otterbourne, will be let at an affordable rent, below market prices, to people registered with Hampshire Home Choice.

They have been developed by F.E. Chase & Son Ltd to meet code four of the Code for Sustainable Homes and code five for energy.

Cllr Steve Miller, portfolio holder for Business Services which includes new homes delivery, said: “These three affordable homes in Otterbourne add to the five completed recently in Itchen Abbas and together contribute to 160 planned over the next five years.

“The project demonstrates our commitment to provide much-needed homes for those in housing need.”

Recently the Mayor of Winchester, Cllr Eileen Berry, visited the site of the former council garage block which was used to develop the new homes.
