A pensioner died after falling and breaking his neck at his Winchester home.
Today's inquest heard that George Davis, of Fivefields Road, would have probably died instantly.
The 90-year-old’s body was discovered by his son Michael, when he arrived to help his parents with their weekly shop on the morning of September 12.
A post mortem found that Mr Davis had fractured his neck, hit his forehead and bruised his arm.
Recording an accidental death verdict, Assistant Central Hampshire Coroner Simon Burge said: “I have no reason to think that death was anything other than immediate.
“He would not have suffered.”
