A MAN who assaulted a well-known Winchester busker has been fined £245.
Russell Loveland, 36, of no fixed address, shoved guitarist Marvin Naylor and threatened to smash his instrument whilst he performed near The Broadway last month.
Loveland was ordered to pay £100 compensation to Mr Naylor and £145 in court fines after pleading guilty at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court. Magistrates also ordered him to attend alcohol treatment for six days.
Mr Naylor told the Chronicle that Loveland was an “aggressive nutter” who was shouting about buskers not paying rent.
The musician added that he was a “bit shaken up” by the attack but got back to business after a few minutes.
Loveland was restrained by a group of women after the assault and was later caught on CCTV.
