A BIN lorry driver suffered serious injuries in a collision with a tractor on a country lane near Winchester.
Firefighters had to cut the victim out from the lorry with severe leg injuries.
He was airlifted to Southampton General Hospital.
The crash was reported to have happened at around 11am last Friday.
The exact location was unclear but is believed to have been near Alresford.
The two other binmen were uninjured. The tractor driver is not thought to have been hurt.
A city council spokesman today said the incident is being investigated by the council’s Health and Safety Adviser for East Hampshire. The waste contract is joint one with Winchester City Council.
