MOTORISTS can expect severe rush hour delays on one of Hampshire’s busiest motorways.
The M3 southbound carriageway is blocked between Winchester Services and Junction Eight for Andover due to a “serious accident”.
It follows a crash near Cheesefoot head to the east of Winchester which is disrupting journeys on the A272.
It is not yet known how many vehicles are involved in the M3 incident.
The crash is causing chaos in the area with delays of more than 20 minutes.
Traffic is being diverted at Junction Eight where drivers can take the A303 westbound and the A34 Southbound to re-join the M3 at Junction Nine.
The crash is causing delays on the northbound carriageway due to motorists slowing down to look.
There are delays of 20 minutes in the area.
