FANS of Molly's Den in Winchester will have reason to celebrate as the popular emporium which is set to close after losing a planning battle will have another outlet in the city.

It is one of five new shops set to open in the centre of Winchester in the coming weeks and months.

The emporium is set to open a small 'in-town' version of their premises in the centre of Winchester at the shop which was previously occupied by Shakeaway in Middle Brook Street which closed a year ago.

The news comes as Goadsby Commercial say they have let five shops in the space of a week in the city centre which includes Sweet Ice Cream Lounge opening a second branch of their successful Totton ice cream and dessert parlour in the shop next to Sainsburys.

Meanwhile Bits and Pieces will operate homeware sales from the Former Post Office in Middle Brook Street.

In addition, Apollo Nails are moving from The Brooks to larger premises at 64 St Georges Street. This property will benefit from the ongoing improvement works currently being undertaken by the council to the pavement and exterior of the building.

In Parchment Street, Goadsby acted on behalf of a private landlord to let No.71 to Mayam Boutique, who are due to open on 12th November, selling Turkish rugs and collectables.

Penny Smith of Goadsby Commercial in Winchester said:‘’These lettings show that there continues to be high demand for retail opportunities in Winchester and this popular shopping destination will benefit from the previously vacant units being occupied. Goadsby continue to lead the market in Winchester and in addition to these five lettings we have three further retail units under offer and due to complete by Christmas.”
