A DRINK driver has narrowly avoided a jail sentence.
Jake John Connor was stopped by police in Telegraph Way, Morn Hill, near Winchester, on July 18, magistrates heard. When tested, he had 47 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath – the legal limit is 35.
Connor, 32, of Casey Avenue, Northolt, Middlesex, admitted the charge and also driving while disqualified and with no insurance. The court heard he had a poor driving record and disregard for court orders,
Magistrates in Basingstoke jailed him for 12 weeks, suspended for 12 months. He was also ordered to go on a 25-day rehabilitation course, and required pay a £115 victim surcharge. He was disqualified from driving for three years.
