Hursley residents warned to secure homes after attempted break in

4:59pm Monday 12th March 2012

Police are warning Hursley residents to secure their homes after a recent attempted burglary.

A property in Main Road, Hursley, was damaged between 10pm and midnight on March 2 after someone attempted to break in.

Doors to the garage, kitchen and a door to a barn conversion were all damaged during the attempt and tool marks were seen on the doors while some fencing was damaged.

PC Craig Robinson, investigating, said: “Fortunately this property was secure so offenders didn’t get in and nothing was stolen. However, opportunist thieves will take advantage of any open windows or unlocked doors, so the message is simple, lock it or lose it.”

Anyone with information on this incident should contact PC Robinson on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
