Former 400m runner Todd Bennett puts St Swithun's pupils through their paces
A PAIR of Olympic athletes visited a Winchester school recently to help with their Sport Relief efforts.
Triple jumper Larry Achike and former 400m runner Todd Bennett went to St Swithun’s Junior School to help with their charity run.
All 130 children from Years 1-6 took part in the event with Larry starting things off and Todd unable to resist the urge to take part.
The pair also took part in an assembly, exercise classes and question and answer sessions with students.
Roger Marshall, deputy head who organised the day, said: “We were delighted to welcome Larry and Todd to St Swithun’s as part of our Sports Relief event. They were an inspiration to the children and staff alike and encouraged us all to see sport as an integral and important part of our lives.”
The pupils raised more than £700 for sport relief.
