Three-vehicle crash closes Winchester road

A THREE-vehicle pileup closed a busy Winchester road this afternoon.
Two cars and a lorry were involved in an accident in Badger Farm Road, Winchester, at around 4.30pm.
The cars, one of which was a grey Volkswagen Golf, collided head on while the lorry suffered minor damage to its side.
It is unknown how many people were involved in the incident but South Central Ambulance confirmed only minor injuries were suffered with one patient taken to Royal Hampshire County Hospital.
Fire and police were both on scene and the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance was also called but stood down before arrival.
The Hazard Area Response Team was also on scene to deal with a fuel leakage.
Police closed the road between the Ridgeway junction and the Sainsbury's roundabout, diverting traffic through Ridgeway and Meadow Way.
Normal service is expected to resume shortly.
