THE annual Alresford Watercress Festival is set to be bigger and better this year.

Alresford Town Council announced at a meeting last Thursday that this year’s festival would have more stalls than ever before.

Cllr Roy Gentry, speaking on behalf of the absent Cllr John Cattle, said: “The festival is all on schedule for Sunday, May 20. We have all our sponsors in place and we have got more stalls than we have ever had and the stallholders are paying a bit more money, so the financial health of the festival is very good.”

Park and ride facilities will be available in Ropley for visitors while the Alresford Recreation Centre in The Avenue is also being considered as a site for overflow parking with a decision to be made next month.
