A HAMPSHIRE maths whizz is heading off to college with an A* A-level already under his belt.

Former Test Valley School pupil Jack Peach, 16, earned an A* in GCSE maths last summer when in Year 10, and repeated the feat this year in an A-level exam.

Headteacher Louisa Hiscock said: “We are delighted with Jack's success. He has undoubtedly worked hard to achieve this result and it is certainly well deserved. His achievements in maths have been outstanding throughout his time at school, alongside his excellent results in his other GCSEs this year.”

Penny Wilcox, head of maths at the school, added: “Everyone at Test Valley School is very proud of Jack's achievements and will follow his future progress with interest.”

The school broke its own record in maths in this year's exams with 80 per cent scoring A*-C grades.

Jack, of Grateley, is now studying at Peter Symonds College .
