New wine school to open in Winchester next month

A NEW wine school is opening in Winchester next month.
Champagne expert Cecile Bergart is launching Hampshire Wine School on Thursday, October 18.
It will offer four and eight-week courses where people can learn more about wines and regions, while there will also be regular evening and weekend tasting events.
The business is part of the Local Wine School network of independent schools across the country.
Cecile, of Eastleigh , said: “Wines are such a passion of mine that I find sharing that first-hand experience very rewarding. I want to make discovering and understanding wines accessible to everyone and a thoroughly enjoyable way to spend an evening.”
The first event will be held at bar No.5 Bridge Street at 7pm. Cecile is also opening a school in Southampton at the White Star Tavern in Oxford Street from Friday, October 19.
