Prison for man who brandished loaded air rifle near Winchester

A WINCHESTER man has been jailed for frightening people with a loaded air rifle on Bushfield Camp.

Gary Page scared members of the public with the .22 calibre weapon on May 1, city magistrates were told.

He admitted possession of the loaded weapon and was jailed for four weeks by magistrates who said the offence was too serious for a non-custodial sentence.

Page, 39, of Stuart Crescent, Stanmore, was sent to prison for a total of five months and two weeks for breaches of two suspended sentences imposed earlier this year for an assault and driving whilst disqualified.
