SOUTH East MEP Nirj Deva was in Winchester last Friday for a Q&A session with local Conservative members.
The Milner Hall in St Peter Street was the venue for an evening which saw food provided by local restaurateur Miff Kayum’s Bangkok Brasserie.
Winchester & Chandler’s Ford MP Steve Brine said: “MEPs cover such vast areas, we don't see one in Winchester that often but given the large numbers of our laws currently emanating from across the channel, it is vital we hear more from them in my opinion.”
Mr Brine added: “Nirj is a top-rate MEP and vastly experienced; it is always good to have him here and give people the chance to put their questions. No doubt we will see him and his fellow MEPs more in the next few years as we move towards the next Euro elections in 2014.”
