11:28am Friday 12th October 2012 in Winchester
POLICE are warning residents to protect their jewellery following a burglary in Winchester.
Residents are advised to take pictures of valuable jewellery to help police track them should they be stolen.
It follows a burglary in Pudding Lane, Headbourne Worthy last month where a lifetime collection of rings, bracelets, necklaces and earrings were taken.
The burglary occurred on Monday, September 8, between 8am-7.45pm.
PC Andrew Ferguson of Winchester Police Station said: “If you have valuable jewellery in your home, take photographs to assist in locating the property should it be stolen and consider storing items in a safe.
“This burglary has seen a lifetime collection of jewellery stolen including items passed down from previous generations that cannot be replaced.
“I would like to appeal to anyone with information about this burglary, or the stolen items, to contact the police.” Contact PC Ferguson at Winchester Police Station on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
